Phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) are beneficial microbes that help convert insoluble phosphorus into forms that plants can absorb. They achieve this by secreting organic acids, enzymes, and other compounds that break down phosphate minerals.

These bacteria play a crucial role in sustainable agriculture by enhancing soil fertility and reducing the need for chemical fertilizers. Some well-known PSB strains include Pseudomonas putida, Bacillus subtilis, and Burkholderia species.
